Can China come back in 2024?

It's a big question for emerging markets. Economically, China is going into the new year weakly. Retail sales and manfacturing are both coming back slowly, but they have also needed significant support from the government. The real estate sector is still a huge road block to improvement, and in general, investment has struggled over the last 6 months.

That being said, Chinese ETFs have been beat down heavily in 2023 with prices nearing historical lows. Most are still at their 52-week lows. The contrarian in me sees upside and less downside risk than other stocks that are at all-time highs.
