Has the tide turn for capitala?
1) brent crude oil has remained steady for the second quarter. from a peak of 91.17 usd on 5th april 24, it continued trending down to a low of 76 usd on 4th june 24 before climbing back to 82 early july 24
2) ringgit has gained strength against usd in the 2nd quarter vs the 1st quarter. from a high of 4.77907 early april to a low of 4.65 on 26th july
3) preliminary data from capitala for 2nd quarter: 11% yoy in number of passengers carried, load factor at record high of 90%, MRO services profit increased, Santan recorded 6% growth yoy sales, Teleport the logistics arm carried 33% more cargoes yoy. Visa free entry for indian and chinese nationals should continue to bode well for malaysia inbound tourism traffic and hence inbound flights in which airasia constitutes a big portion
