$CapitaLandInvest (9CI.SG)$ Buying a stock is like taking a train. And it depends on what train we are taking. Is it LRT or MRT? You set your starting point and you know your destination point. If we take MRT, when you reach your destination, you alight. No doubt about it, because you have already set where you want to alight. But when we suddenly change our mind in the train and says, maybe I should go further down another 2 stops today and see what's out there. No right or wrong, sometimes you find new surprises, other times you felt you should have just alighted at your initial target. Or on certain days you sat on the wrong direction. Usually we alight immediately and change course. But there are people who are not aware and only realise they are travelling the opposite direction when they are about to reach the other side of the MRT line. And most of the time, you have done everything required. You came out earlier, set your starting point and destination, got a seat and the aircon is on full blast on a hot day. Everything turns out well until the MRT suddenly stalls and announcement is made that passengers are required to walk back to the last station, through the tunnel. Or when you take an LRT, which is a looping route. You got onto the wrong direction again this time, but you know it's all right because you know it's a looping route. You will still reach your destination, just that you require probably additional time. So do we blame SMRT etc for the hiccups? Yes we do. Does it make any difference? Any improvements along the way? Yes and no. Will they still increase ride fares? Yes. Do we still take their service? Yes, haha...
