China sees its huge market as an opportunity rather than a threat to the United States.

Shanghai (Reuters)
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce reported that Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen stated on Saturday at the trade negotiations held in Tianjin that modern China with its huge population is not a threat but an opportunity for the United States.
This negotiation, chaired by Marisa Lago, U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce, is the second meeting between the two officials this year amidst ongoing trade frictions between the two countries.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated earlier this week that the United States should lift all tariffs on Chinese products before the Biden administration announces an increase in tariffs on Chinese products, including electric cars.
In a statement on Saturday, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that both countries have conducted "professional, rational, and practical" discussions on policies and business issues raised by both business communities.
In addition, China has emphasized its concerns about issues such as tariffs on Chinese products by the United States and stated its opposition to the implementation of trade and investment restrictions under the pretext of overcapacity.
