Chinese EV names weak this Monday on news that US lawmakers will push to ban Chinese software/hardware relating to connected and self-driving vehicles. This effectively makes it impossible to sell Chinese EVs in the US market even if they open up factories inland.
BUT none have any meaningful presence in the US as of today. Opportunity lost? It depends. We might have a change in administration soon. In the meantime, China's home market is booming and exports to emerging markets are going from strength to strength.

TWP PaPa : politics again ...
Red Guppy : bad news again. If Trump becomes president in Nov election he will make the Chinese EV unable to sell in the US market. Chinese EVs need to set up manufacturing plants in the US in order to sell there.
103484522 : china can make tesla and apple unable to sell in china.see got no ball to do it.that why politicians can use china to win vote
Z00M00 : other countries will probably do the same.
NakamuraKyo : I don't think Trump administration will do any aggressive move on China EV in US market as Elon now in his team, any back fire may bring direct hit on China Tesla.
To be fair, China EVs should setup assembly plant in both EU and US for longer play.
Red Guppy NakamuraKyo : Trump already said. If he is not the next president. The US auto industry will be closed forever. Unable to fight China EV at all.
WayneTheBoon : Europe will follow whatever US does and u fortunately US institutions control the stock prices of Chinese stocks. The Chinese don’t even buy their own stocks
bullrider_21 : The US will block China EV makers from setting up factory in America. Even if they set up in Mexico. the US will find ways to block them with tariffs.
bullrider_21 WayneTheBoon : The Chinese do buy their own stocks but are not buying much now because the Americans control the prices of US-listed China stocks.
101703552 : Protectionism measures is sign of weakness. China as competitor is just mere rhetoric. They are far ahead in the EVs curve. China could slap punitive measures on other sectors that could hurt the Americans corporations. Tit for tat.
