- Companies can only pay dividends out of retained earnings
- 7.3BILLION implies CDL can pay a dividend of $8/ share
- Dividends can be paid in terms of a BONUS ISSUE or CASH or BONUS WARRANTS
In the last AGM, many shareholders expressed to the board to unlock shareholders values and improve the liquidity of the stock.
the easiest way to do that is for CDL to issue a 10% share bonus of 1 share for every 10shares and a free detachable warrant

KB trader : Looks like you have not heard of this saying in the market - deep pockets but arms are short.
CDL is known for paying Meagre dividend… now that the confidence in the next leadership is shaken after the Sincere affair and subsequent resignation of senior mgmt.. I don’t see any turnaround for this counter till CDL addresses this “post senior Kwek”confidence issue.
Deep Sea : Not advisable to issue bonus shares. This will increase the floating shares in the market. Best option is to sell some of the property assets to pay out special dividend just like what Keppel is doing.
jusgod : Sell asset and reduce its huge debt will likely be the best to propel CDL........ Current management are weak in expansion...... The more it expand, the lower the stock price somehow......
ValueBull OP Deep Sea : it depends. bonus shares is good if released in small quantities coupled with detachable warrants that is convertible at market price
ValueBull OP jusgod : Expansion for CDL requires borrowing. However, CDL advantage is it's legacy asset portfolio which they can unlock value

Deep Sea jusgod : Sooner or later, they will sell legacy assets when shareholders complain of falling stock price and low diividend yield.
ValueBull OP Deep Sea : this is an ongoing process that started back in 2021. Nothing has changed here. the next thing you should watch out for is the en-bloc of City Plaza
