Consumers prefer ad-supported video packages (to save on subscription fees?)
Deloitte research in the U.S., U.K., Japan, Germany and Brazil shows price-sensitive viewers are increasingly willing to watch ads for discounted or free streaming video.
Deloitte predicts that by the end of 2023, nearly two-thirds of consumers in developed countries will use at least one AVOD (advertised video on demand) service every month, a year-on-year growth of 5%.
It is predicted that by 2030, most online streaming video subscription services will be partially or fully advertising sponsored.
