COVID is at “very high” activity levels in several US states, according to CDC
According to recent data released by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 activity is reported to be at a “very high” level in more than half of the United States.
The government agency has stated that the CDC will use wastewater and sewage to test whether there are traces of infectious diseases within the region.
According to data collected by the CDC on 8/9, 27 states across the country have reported “very high” levels of wastewater virus activity.
Furthermore, in an NPR interview, the CDC health authorities classified COVID-19 as an “endemic disease.”
“At the moment, we can say COVID-19 is spreading around the world,” Aron Hall, CDC's Deputy Director of Science for Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Viruses, told the radio network.
According to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Protection, endemic diseases are defined as diseases that are regularly expected or circulate at a normal level in a community despite occasional occurrence.
What is the current variant with the most people infected with COVID-19?
The CDC's nowcast data tracker displays COVID-19 estimates and predictions every 2 weeks, and in the 2 weeks from 7/21 to 8/3, KP.3.1.1 accounts for 27.8% of positive infected people, followed by KP.3 at 20.1%.
“The KP.3.1.1 variant is very similar to other variants prevalent in the US. All current strains are descendants of JN.1, which appeared in the latter half of 2023,” CDC spokesperson Rosa Norman previously told USA TODAY.
Changes in COVID-19 positivity rates within a week
According to data collected by the CDC, positive cases of COVID-19 increased the most (2.1%) from 2024/7/28 to 8/3 in the 6 Midwestern states that make up Region 5. This data was published on 2024/8/12.
Note: The CDC organizes positivity rates based on regions defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

ピンハネ : HiJapan is popular tooIt seems that about 30% of people have symptoms without fever
pinkotu : It's called the 5-year break for infectious disease epidemics, but it seems like there's still a long way to go. Unlike general wind, it is susceptible to infection and is highly infectious. COVID-19 alert has been relaxed, so why don't we all wash our hands? No mask, hold your mouth with your hand when you cough, touch it with that hand, and zoom in. So splashes are dangerous, but hand washing is also important.
乱空 OP : Actually, my wife was also infected last month
I had a fever and lost my appetite and said watermelon was delicious
It certainly seems huge that the sense of caution is fading...
ピンハネ pinkotu : HiIt's been a whileWhen I went shopping during Obon, there were too many no masksScary scaryI wear a mask and wash my hands
ピンハネ 乱空 OP : It seems that watermelon is good when you have a feverSince it is rich in vitamins and beta-carotene, it seems to be good for maintaining immunityIt's also good for beauty
乱空 OP ピンハネ : Watermelon was surprisingly correct
Wouldn't you want to eat watermelon without knowing it? I bought it with a sense of rank but it was a nice decision
pinkotu ピンハネ : I'll try it. Well, test = COVID-19, isn't it?
pinkotu 乱空 OP : Looks like there are no sequelae! That was great. After all, the body wants good things without permission, doesn't it? Is it a wild instinct? Normal times are fine too, so it's a memo
乱空 OP pinkotu : Thanks to you, there don't seem to be any sequelae and I'm doing well normally
my wild instincts have ignited a fire lol
