Cramer: Consumers Demand Value, Reject High Prices
Jim Cramer discussed how consumers are increasingly rejecting high-priced products and services, particularly in the airline and retail sectors. "Consumers are finally saying no to high prices and demanding bargains," he said, predicting this behavior will help curb inflation.
Travel and leisure sectors, especially airlines, are seeing disappointing results, but cruise lines are doing well due to affordable room rates. Bargain retailers like $e.l.f. Beauty(ELF.US$ , $Amazon(AMZN.US$ , $Costco(COST.US$ , and $Walmart(WMT.US$ are thriving, while luxury brand $LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton(LVMUY.US$ reported lower-than-expected sales for the second consecutive quarter.
Cramer emphasized that consumers are "on strike" against companies that haven't reduced prices, favoring those that offer better value.
