my strategy is simple. my main portfolio will be of stocks that I don't mind (i) holding long term even if crisis happens (prepared to hold them for 10 years if need be) (ii) and i enter during market crashes.
An example is qqqm below where I bought 2 shares during the market crash of the fed hike in 2022 :) I've not sold any yet.
but as I'm also still new and learning in this journey, I practise caution too and usually go in with lower amounts when I'm uncertain about a stock. hence at that time, I only bought 2 of this. haha.
well. towards the next market crash!
some strategies that people told me which I find useful in risk management:
1. when a stock crashes, don't go all in straightaway.
2. budget out your total capital you wanna put in for the investments. if e.g it's 1000 dollars for all trades, (ive not researched on the ideal ratio!) but you can perhaps proportion like when stock crashes by 5%, you just spend 5% of your budget.
when stock further crashes by 10% , you go in with 20% of your budget. FOR EXAMPLE. Ideal percentage not researched yet. there should be one! can please ddyod and research by yourself.
for me, I do go in in batches too.
not gonna lie, I only bought 2 shares at that time, hence profit 100+ only :D
