The code update for CRWD has caused issues with Windows machines worldwide.
Due to an update of the information security vendor CrowdStrike's product, computers running Windows are crashing.
The Register has discovered that many Windows 10 computers are crashing, displaying the dreaded blue screen of death, and failing to restart.
"BSOD Org caused by csagent.sys is occurring extensively, causing critical services to stop. A user wrote, "I will issue a ticket, but this is a serious matter."
According to the forum, Crowdstrike posted an advisory with a URL containing the phrase "Tech-Alert-Windows-crashes related-to-Falcon-Sensor-2024-07-19", but it is behind the Regiwall and only accessible to customers.
The screenshot of this post shows, "CrowdStrike recognizes reports of crashes related to Falcon Sensor on Windows hosts. The symptoms include hosts experiencing bug check blue screen errors related to Falcon Sensor."
CrowdStrike engineers are working on this issue.
Falcon Sensor is an agent that CrowdStrike claims can quickly detect threats, capture and record activity, and prevent attacks on the system.
