DAX lacks direction

As traders digest further corporate earnings reports in preparation for important monetary policies to be announced by the Federal Reserve, BOE, and BOJ this week, DAX moved slightly around the 18420 level on Monday, reflecting the general cautious mood in Europe.

Chemical manufacturer BASF (-1.4%) became the biggest loser, followed by MTU Aero Engines (-1.1%) and Mercedes-Benz (-1%).

Meanwhile, Merck (3.5%) was at the top, followed by RWE (1.5%).
