You can see it by looking at the movement of options on the 18th. Traders assume that semiconductor manufacturer NVIDIA's stock price will reach more than double the closing price on the same day (about 885 dollars) by the end of the week. The company's stock is not unrelated to the three-digit rise. The rate of increase in 2023 due to optimism about artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors exceeded 230%, more than 3.3 times in 1 year. However, there is probably a long way to reach it in less than a week, even for the most popular stocks in the market.
At 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., traders apparently bought just over 24,000 NVIDIA calls with an exercise price of 1940 dollars and maturing on the 22nd. The total amount paid was 24,000 dollars (about 3.58 million yen). It is bought in small lots of approximately 900 copies, and is thought to be an individual trader.
