$Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3x Shares ETF (SOXL.US)$ ...

$Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3x Shares ETF (SOXL.US)$ I cut my losses today. -1.5 million.
The reason for this is that, due to the nature of leverage, I thought that even if "sox" returned to its highest point in July, soxl would stop at around 30-40, so I made the decision.
I think that for soxl to reach its highest point, it would require a performance similar to Nvidia in the first half of this year, but I don't think it will happen for at least a few years.
I concluded that soxl is not suitable for long-term holding.
Since I am still in my first year of investing in stocks, I would like to hear your thoughts on this determination.

  • サクッとSP : Things that are determined by one's own thoughts. There is no reason for others to say whether it is right or wrong.[undefined]

  • よっさん4 : Cutting losses is justice.

  • みやじ社長 : Even though my investment experience is not extensive and it's a pretty tough downturn, I will hodl for a bright future!
    Embrace the crash!

  • things403 : Investing is different for everyone's situation. If you can determine the situation and cut your losses, you may be able to prevent missed opportunities and make it effective for products that are not suitable for the long term. For me, it's like a bargain sale. I'll buy a little here and there. ♩

  • HONDA N-ONE : I'm glad I noticed early. It's not good to hold leverage for the long term because the decrease in principal is too large when it goes down, so it's difficult to have an effect even if it rises from there. You should search and try to find a website that explains it in an easy-to-understand way.

  • かせいふ : Well done! 👏

  • to O. : I think it's a good decision to hold on for dear life with leverage, even though there is a possibility of being kicked out once.

  • 182265083 : Indeed, 1.5 million is a large sum of money. Before considering its suitability for long-term or short-term investments, I believe it is important to determine the percentage of this amount in relation to the total assets. This will determine the categorization into investors, speculators, gamblers, adventurers, heroes, fools, dream chasers, and Edoites, among others.
    Bankroll management is important.[undefined]

  • sonobe : Before the election, it is unstable and the switch between bull and bear is also sensitive. But if it's the opposite, I think it would have been profitable, and people want to experience the destructive power when riding the trend. I think it will be a period where you can enjoy the gambling aspect as there is a possibility of instability until March with the SAM rule illuminated.[undefined]If you prioritize certain profit, there is also the option of going into bonds until then, but it won't be fun.

  • 182656941 : As someone who has also experienced a loss of -220, it is more than just unfortunate.[undefined]
It's my own decision, so cutting losses is inevitable. However, since the RSI of SOXS has reached 80 and the VIX has come this far, I think there will be a rebound soon, so it was wise to exit near that peak.[undefined]
