10baggerbamm : the sell-off yesterday I think was obviously it's primarily with asml lithography not giving forward guidance that's in line or above expectations number one number two and the bigger one is the looming potential threat that the Biden administration will further restrict technology that sold to China and lastly the comments from president Trump which I think may have been taken out of context where he said if Taiwan wants protection they'll pay. and I think a lot of people immediately thought that there's going to be tariffs or sanctions imposed on Taiwan Sammy so the market doesn't like uncertainty and now we have two variables between what will the Biden administration do and what will Trump do when he's elected. I listen to several people last night and they said that during Trump's administration his first presidency he wanted to remove the us from the United Nations and I remember this when it actually was occurring because these other countries were not paying and Trump was saying you know we spend tens of billions of dollars protecting these other countries and what do we get we get nothing they need to pay us. and I think that's the context that it was meant in that if the us is going to defend these other nations what are we getting back in return. so until there's clarity I think we could be churning and a narrow band. obviously we have to have other chip companies do well because we're now entering earnings season that would be the most important thing is forward guidance being raised by key chip companies
