Peterfu : The situation where the ex-dividend date is after the payment date is relatively rare in the US stock market, but there are certain circumstances that may lead to this:
1. High special dividends: If a company decides to distribute a particularly high amount of dividend, it may require more time to calculate the shareholder list and make the payment. This could result in the ex-dividend date being after the payment date.
2. Stock splits or mergers: If a company conducts a stock split or merger before the payment date, the ex-dividend date may fall after the payment date. This is because the changes in the number of shares may require more time to process and adjust.
3. Company financial adjustments: Sometimes, a company may undergo financial adjustments or restructuring, causing the ex-dividend date to fall after the payment date. This may involve recalculating the shareholder list or adjusting the dividend amount.
Quah OP Peterfu : check the news tab though..it says the ex date for this is 26 Aug. So I think Moomoo made a typo error.
louis sss : The key is the registration date; the others don't matter, because you can get your dividends is the key. Prices will follow in a few days.
louis sss : Because usually a high dividend means that it has strong growth potential.
