Imagine getting paycheck on regular basis - that's the joy of dividend investing. The very first book I read on dividend investing is "The Complete Dividend Investing Guide That Works!" by KC Chong. KC Chong is the very same author of another best selling book of "The Complete Value Investing Guide That Works!".
While I am building a growth/ETF portfolio mainly focused on US stock market, I have also started a dividend portfolio with the goal of receiving passive regular income for retirement. The very first dividend stocks I invested in are the Malaysian banks ( $MAYBANK (1155.MY)$ $PBBANK (1295.MY)$ ) and REITS ( $SUNREIT (5176.MY)$ $IGBREIT (5227.MY)$ ). The launch of Trade Singapore Market platform by Moomoo Malaysia has also enabled me to start accumulating the Singaporean bank stocks and some good REITs.
While dividend investing may not yield high return as compared to investing in growth stock, investing in quality dividend stocks with the right strategy enables one to grow wealth in a safe manner.
"Receiving dividends is a reminder that your investments are working for you". With the rate cut on the table, it's now time for the dividend stocks to shine.
CY90 : Major is Reit. wow
YOHO3318 OP CY90 : yeah, as REITs are required to distribute at least 90% of their income
Mr Pistachio : DBS is a divd ATM long term hold but your cost basis in the teens is best
YOHO3318 OP Mr Pistachio : waiting for it to pull back to collect more =)
Chilli Doggie : The anticipation for the rate cut had been dragged too long contributing to the uptrend. Could pullback or push even higher once announcement is made.
I’m just waiting for the hype to end before adding more REIT positions.
YOHO3318 OP Chilli Doggie : yeah agreed...I am also waiting for a pull back to add on my REIT position but market seems to be very bullish today. Premarket price of SPY has already reached its ATH
