Dow Jones notches another record high; U.S. stock markets post weekly gain

Major U.S. indices ended mixed on Friday but closed off the week higher following the first easing of U.S. interest rate policy in four years. The Dow Jones climbed over 30 points to mark a new record high, bringing its weekly gain to 1.6%. The S&P 500 lost 0.2% on Friday, rising 1.4% week-on-week, whilst notching in a record high on Thursday. The Nasdaq-100 fell 0.2% but ended the week higher by 1.4%. Three out of the 11 S&P sectors finished higher with utilities and communication services leading gains while industrial weighed.
