Dow Jones sees record high; S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 close lower ahead of Nvidia earnings

U.S. stock markets were dragged to a mixed finish on Monday, despite the Dow Jones climbing to a record high close. The Dow Jones inched up 0.2%, extending gains to a second consecutive day. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 closed lower as investors brace for Nvidia’s earnings on Wednesday. The S&P 500 closed 0.3% lower while the Nadaq-100 closed more than 1.0% lower. Among the S&P sectors, energy led gains, while tech saw the steepest decline.
