Driven by AI demand, AMD edges out Intel in Q2 CPU battle!
Analysts Vivek Arya, Duksan Jang, and Michael Mani unveiled a research report on Wednesday highlighting AMD's exceptional performance during the Q2 CPU battle, overshadowing Intel and capturing the spotlight across the market.
AMD's CPUs not only significantly outpaced Intel in shipments for both PCs and servers but also achieved higher ASP (Average Selling Price) growth.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BoAML) forecasts AMD's PC market share to modestly increase to 17-18% by the end of 2024, while its server market share is projected to surge to 37% by 2026.
The institution further notes that AMD's market share is anticipated to continue its upward trajectory at least until 2025, when its combined revenue share in the PC and server markets is expected to reach 25%, marking a remarkable leap from 19% in 2023 and 10% in 2020.
BoAML maintains a 'Buy' rating for AMD while retaining a 'Underperform' rating for Intel, projecting a 38% year-over-year growth in AMD's CPU sales for 2024, in stark contrast to Intel's anticipated 2% growth.

103291848 : zen 5 is a disappointment, Intel's 15th gen will crush them
习近平不是维尼熊 103291848 : At the end of 2024, is anyone still going to blow the internet???
DavidCCL 习近平不是维尼熊 : There's nothing you can do about it. Outsiders watch the bustle, and insiders watch the doorway. Most users only look at brands, and the Intel CEO is also very good at drawing big cakes.
103291848 习近平不是维尼熊 : one's coming in next month, so maybe, yeah
it takes 4-5 years to develop a chip, the current CEO had to deal with the mistakes that the previous CEO left him with. 2025 will be when Pat Gelsinger's investment pays off in both the CCG and DCAI sector. But take it with a grain of salt, corpos love to “画大饼”
103291848 DavidCCL : Give me one CEO who does not like to “画大饼”, it's their job
