Past movies, past ER, and past CFO. $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$ just acquired a new CFO from cars.com, Aron CEO effective immediate has taken 25% incentive cut. With a lot of anticipated movies yet to arrive prior to next ER. Shall see what unfolds on the next ER.
FANCY PANTS 151246838 OP : This was the most recent ER. And during that time all those movies that were hyped up to be massive W for AMC and it still wasn't enough. It'll be the same cycle again. Keep in mind the delayed effects of the writer's strike still haven't fully hit either.
151246838 OP FANCY PANTS : $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$ did lose its meme status, tone set by covid which without a doubt changed how microeconomics navigate. I think the actors strike in 2023 has already hit, and with other streaming platforms pushing their services, its hard to reverse a direct-to-consumer mentality. Keep in mind, same CFO throughout this ordeal. I think $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$ can recover, now that actors strike is behind, movies are now set to schedule with also a new CFO, and no covid.

151246838 OP FANCY PANTS : Also, according to this article. Dune is set to release a spin off, Dune: prophecy later this year, and Denis Villeneuve wants to make another one called Dune: Messiah
FANCY PANTS 151246838 OP : Just don't put all your eggs in one basket banking that a movie will save the company. They still have a ways to go to get back to pre-pandemic levels. Streaming is taking the front seat. Plus going to the movies with the entire family is expensive. People are still feeling the burn from inflation.
Who knows, maybe the new CFO can help turn things about, but I have been less than impressed by the company thus far.
Ken Griffin Charity 151246838 OP : AMC was affected by the SAG/WGA strike, but the debt load existed long before that ever occurred. Also, Barbenheimer achieved meme status. Dune 2 is not going to replicate that so easily.
