Earnings highlight: CIMB, Ekovest and MRCB
•CIMB Group (CIMB) reported 11% increase in net profit in 2Q24 due higher net interest income and non-interest income. The group has also proposed a total cash dividend of 27sen per share, including a special dividend of 7sen.
•Ekovest’s (EKOVEST) net loss decreased to RM64.87m for 4Q24, compared to RM95.66m in the previous year on the back of turnaround in the performance of its associate. However, revenue for the quarter dropped slightly to RM270.33m from RM270.45m y-o-y.
•Malaysian Resources Corporation (MRCB) saw its 2Q24 net profit jumped more than fourfolds, recording RM61.18m boosted its construction segment.
