Earnings highlight: Genting Malaysia, Genting and Press Metal
•Press Metal (PMETAL) reported 65% surge in net profit in 2Q24 due to higher price sold and stronger greenback that boosted export receipts. Its quarterly revenue rose 5.2% year-on-year to RM3.95b.
•Genting Malaysia (GENM) reported 74.5% jump in net profit attributed by its leisure and hospitality business. Its quarterly revenue came in at RM2.67b, rising 7.9% from a year ago.
•Genting saw its 2Q24 net profit rose 49% boosted by other non-operating gains and a reduction in the share of losses while its revenue rose 3% year-on-year to RM6.86b.
