Arun10 : yes, but sometimes there's no guarantee cause you have to keep an eye on other news
sometimes report show good news, but can be some other news that affect the stock price.
But the ER is a good baseline

Arun10 Che Muhd Irfan OP : Usually news is after market close. If ER positive, that is a good indicator that the company is doing good for it's business

If you're a short term trader, then sure, ride the wave after the reports and then take your profits.
