"Elon Musk interviews Donald Trump" hits 17M listeners - YT explained

$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ $BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)$ $NIO Inc (NIO.US)$ $XPeng (XPEV.US)$ I will use this YT to highlight what was said during the interview that is important to Tesla and the EV Industry:
1:34 to 6:04
1) Trump: Although not everyone has to have an electric car, I have to admit that you are producing amazing products, Musk! I know you are very passionate about artificial intelligence, and I am surprised that artificial intelligence will consume twice the amount of energy currently produced in the entire United States. We will need to produce a lot of additional energy to compete with China's artificial intelligence. Electricity consumption may be twice that of the United States now.
Comment: Trump praised Tesla about Tesla's products like electric vehicles and artificial intelligence (AI). As a politician, he attacked energy consumption and China's AI. Note that this doesn't imply he is against the AI technology as commented by some media.
2) Musk: People need fossil fuels, but we should transition to sustainable energy because fuel will eventually run out. We have released too much carbon dioxide, and 1000ppm of carbon dioxide will make people sick and have headaches. The current concentration is 421ppm. If we can complete the transition within 50 to 100 years, then it won't be a big problem. But the sooner the better. Solar panels will be the main way to produce electricity in the future, but you need batteries to store this energy because the sun does not produce electricity 24 hours a day. The stored electricity can be used to charge the electric car, so that you have a long-term sustainable energy. Tesla is moving towards this goal. Achieving this goal does not mean that you will sacrifice comfort. Therefore, we ensure that Tesla cars have top-notch design, comfort and speed, S3XY.
Trump: I'm waiting for you to put solar panels on the roof of your car.
Comment: This is used by some media (and someone) to attack Musk of supporting fossil fuels and "dwelled on the problem of climate change". On the contrary, Musk was referring to a practical approach of achieving long-term sustainable energy. Someone (biased) on purpose failed to mention Musk talked about storage energy, another great achievement of Tesla. Trump's reply showed he is all for sustainable energy (solar energy).
3) Musk responded to Trump: A full transition to sustainable energy does not mean sacrificing comfort. So we are making the best cars. Tesla's stock price has recently fallen sharply and has started to go sideways again. Many people have overlooked a series of all-round vehicle innovations that are being carried out within Tesla: the new Model Y that may be released, the next generation of models to be produced next year, the Roadster sports car, the continuous scale-up of the Cybertruck, and the mass production of the Semi truck by the end of the year. Next year, there will be driverless taxis, which Musk believes will be realized, and 1,000 robots will enter the Tesla factory. I believe that the price of Tesla will be below RMB 200 soon.
Comment: Musk used the opportunity to highlight Tesla's outlook next year like the new Model Y, scale-up Cybertruck, sport car Roadster, Semi trucks, Driverless taxi and Optimus robots. He intentionally reminded Trump that Tesla is a Tech company, more than an EV makers.
My Take:
1) You can watch the YT on Cathie Wood's latest interview - what she said about Tesla and the recent share price performance (which I will not mention here).
2) It was natural that the interview focused on Trump's presidential election and his attack on the Biden-Harris administration.
3) According to Saywer from X.com, despite the disruption caused by the DDOS attack which delayed the event by almost 45 minutes, the interview was a success with a record of listeners at 𝕏 Spaces ever (ranked by total listeners):
#1 Elon Musk & Trump: 17 million (and counting)
#2 Elon Musk & Ron De Santis: 4.4 million
#3 Elon Musk & BBC : 3.5 million
#4 Robin Wheeler - Elon Musk Q&A: 2.8 million
#5 Elon Musk's Twitter Files: 2.4 million
The above number of listeners did not include secondary listenership, such as people listening through live-streams, rebroadcasts, or other indirect methods.
4) It is suspected that the mainstream media played down the event by not reporting the interview objectively. There were few negatively biased reports about "Musk dwelled in the problem of climate change" and "Trump's slurring voice". I have seen someone comment that "Musk just nodded yes and hardly said anything" which is obviously not true. The above prompted me to make this post to clarify some misguided information.

  • ZnWC OP : It is suspected that the mainstream media played down the event by not reporting the interview objectively. I have seen someone comment that "Musk just nodded yes and hardly said anything" which is obviously not true.

The above prompted me to make this post to clarify some misguided information. This is a good example that we should not take articles written by some "popular" media as hard facts. We should COMPARE the information to have a balanced view.
