Elon Musk sends stern warning to Tesla short sellers: You’ll be ‘obliterated’
$Tesla(TSLA.US$ $BYD COMPANY(01211.HK$ $NIO Inc(NIO.US$ $XPeng(XPEV.US$ Elon Musk sent a stern warning to Bill Gates, along with any other Tesla short sellers who continue to hold a position against the company, telling them they will be “obliterated.”
Tesla has been a company that has attracted a lot of short interest over the past several years. Bears who believe the company is on the verge of financial ruin have been holding the belief that Tesla is a fraudulent company that has lied on financial spreadsheets for years, only to lose billions of dollars collectively.
Elon Musk: "Once Tesla fully solves autonomy and has Optimus in volume production, anyone still holding a short position will be obliterated. Even Gates."
My Take: Tesla shares are up 6.54% today and 10.2% yesterday on its better than expected quarterly delivery figures. The stock is up nearly 30% so far in the past month. In the past five years, Tesla stock has shot up over 1,300%. I shared a post in April that reported Tesla short sellers are being burned for massive losses after the Q1 2024 Earnings Call. Since then, the stock has catapulted over 34%.
