ETFs vs Stock Taxable Rate
My experience with ETFs is with my 401K. I recently started following the market and purchasing stocks. I have gotten a little carried away. Hindsight, I wish I would have invested more in ETFs. The profits or gains in the stock are taxed at the time the stock is sold, which could significantly reduce the net profit. It is important to consider before you realize the gains. If you hold on to an ETF for at least 1 year, I understand most ETFs are taxed as a capital gains rate.
