EU to Impose Temporary Tariffs on Chinese EV Imports
Starting 4 July, the EU will levy temporary tariffs up to 38.1% on Chinese-made electric vehicles (EVs) due to concerns over unfair subsidies harming EU manufacturers.
Tariff Rates: $BYD COMPANY(01211.HK$ faces a 17.4% tariff, $GEELY AUTO(00175.HK$ 20%, and $SAIC Motor Corporation(600104.SH$ 38.1%.
Cooperative manufacturers face an average tariff of 21%, while non-cooperative ones face the maximum 38.1% tariff.
If talks between the EU and China fail, these provisional tariffs will be enforced from 4 July.
