European Morning News. Insider news [ from Tweakers]
$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ Nvidia is said to have chosen Samsung as the main supplier for the GDDR7 memory chips in the GeForce RTX 50 video cards. The memory modules from the South Korean manufacturer are said to be the only ones to have passed the necessary verification processes for the time being.
The South Korean news medium "Greened" writes that Samsung's memory chips will be used in the desktop and laptop variants of the GeForce RTX 50 video cards. Nvidia would also LIKE to use GDDR7 memory chips from SK hynix$ and $Micron Technology (MU.US)$ for the mobile GPUs. Those are the two companies competing with Samsung in GDDR7 VRAM chips.

An insider reportedly told Greened that Samsung has already made a lot of progress in this product segment, but that this could change quickly. Samsung could therefore quickly lose its current position, it sounds. Both Nvidia and Samsung have not yet officially responded to the news.

Money Thrill OP : In order to be more independent of Asia, I think, a guess, that Nvidia will opt for new memory-intensive chips from Mu? Low energy consumption and less heat output ?
