Eurozone construction industry sees biggest drop in the past 3 years
Construction production in the Eurozone in May fell 2.4% from the same month last year, making it the biggest drop in the past 3 years.
Specialized construction (down 1.8%, April: down 0.9%) and construction work (down 4.8%, down 3.6%) declined further.
There was also a decrease in civil engineering work (0.4% decrease, 2% decrease).
Among the major economies in the Eurozone, construction activity declined in Germany (down 7%), France (down 5.6%), and Spain (down 1.8%).
Compared to the previous month, seasonally adjusted construction industry output decreased by 0.9%.
