Every tick of the clock counts: Identify "unusual" stock orders with moomoo's Ticks feature
Hi, mooers.
In today's fast-paced market, every tick of the clock counts. To navigate the dynamic and complex stock market, we need to identify market behavior that falls outside the norm. But what defines an order as "unusual", and where can you find this information? In this post, we'll explore how moomoo's Ticks feature can help answer these questions.
What is ticker data aka "ticks"?
The Ticks list on moomoo displays real-time information on trade time, price, size, and direction. The colors of the trade price and trade size indicate whether they are higher or lower than the previous close. The symbols show whether a trade was executed at the ask price (upward arrow), bid price (downward arrow), or between the bid and ask prices (gray diamond).

Syuee : I like the new Ticks feature in Moomoo. It lets me hide the feature easily, but still use it whenever I want to. This new change makes my chart screen bigger, and I love it.
The Ticks feature is helpful for detecting unusual orders, like block trades and smart money moves. It shows real-time market activity in bids, asks, and trading volume, which is particularly useful when scouting for exploitable trends.
Indeed, every tick of the clock holds significance !
Demascus : Thank you for mentioning the ticks button. I had thought that the ticks feature had been disabled on portrait mode and only available on landscape mode. Thankfully that isn't the case!
Additionally, the button is not obstructive and allows me to hide/unhide the ticks feature so easily. No more design changes to this, please!
slippery : I like it
ZnWC : The tick button give us the flexibility to view the chart - to see the chart in a larger view or see selling/buying prices in detail.

Southern Eagle : New feature is cool. Really useful tool for monitoring market movements.
Double Rainbow : If a stock is trading low with many large but orders outnumbering sell orders, it may suggests institutional Investors are probably accumulating positions at low prices. I use such information from ticks feature to make better trading decisions.
