Ex Div was Dec 2, and the pay date is Dec 9.  I have seen many stock prices rise after the dividend payments are made.  Maybe the price drops till Monday, then works it way back up?  This is one of the highest paying dividend stocks on the SP500 list, hovering around 6.5%(with a healthy dip).   I look at this as buying a high yield  bond, with more potentially for upside growth over the years. I like that it is in the SP500,  as it is included in so many ETF's and Funds. If you want maximum growth, might look somewhere else... like IPX.   This is not financial advice.
