Convertible bonds
$Super Micro Computer (SMCI.US)$ The crazy surge in SMCI stock price on 2/22 and the subsequent drop on 2/23 seem to be related not only to NVDA's strong earnings impact but also to convertible bonds, possibly involving the valuation of bonds and short selling for hedging purposes by institutional investors. Can anyone explain this in an easy-to-understand way? As a stock market beginner, it seems like a good time to buy, but I would like to know if further short selling and decline are possible during the bond purchase deferral period until the 13th.
