As product shipments from the Kumamoto Plant 1 of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC), the world's largest contract semiconductor manufacturer, approach December, Taiwanese related companies are entering Kumamoto Prefecture one after another. As part of the company's supply chain (supply network) development, it also aims to strengthen relationships with Japanese companies. 　In April, the company opened a 4-story office that also serves as an employee dormitory in Ozu-cho, which is adjacent to Kikuyo-cho, where the TSMC factory is located. 10 to 15 engineers are stationed and are responsible for the normal operation of manufacturing equipment at Plant 1. The office also has a dedicated space for mahjong, which is popular in Taiwan.
