Federal Judge Allows Much of Regulator's Lawsuit Against Coinbase to Proceed

A federal judge in Manhattan, Katherine Polk Failla, said Wednesday that the judge allowed much of the U.S. securities regulator's lawsuit against Coinbase to proceed, but dismissed allegations that Coinbase acted as an unregistered broker through its wallet app.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission sued Coinbase last June, alleging that the company facilitated trading in at least 13 crypto tokens that should have been registered as securities and illegally operated national securities exchanges, broker-dealers and clearing agencies without registering with regulators. $Coinbase (COIN.US)$
