Finally in the Purple Gang

On my 100th day on MooMoo, I finally hit the purple gang after what seems like 1000 trades (980 to be exact, I am high-risk, after all). This is a retrospective on my experience so far, and I think I've had it good compared to most investors out there. I started investing after I quit my full-time job, so that I can pay for my college while also focusing on my studies. Both worked out pretty well, with me still earning pretty well and a perfect GPA.

In my first 2 months of trading on the platform, I made tons of mistakes (and even now, albeit fewer) and learned some basics in investing, having once read up a bit on finance. For example, do you know that stop losses don't work for all hours on MooMoo?

Anyway, first 2 months were losses, but not too much, say 10% of my portfolio iirc. The next 1.5 months were the game changers as the market in May had seen increased action and volatility amidst market uncertainty, with tons of speculation in meme stocks and lots of guessing in Earnings season and the Fed/FOMC announcements. May was great. June not so much, made a few stupid mistakes that cost me 10-15k in potential profits, and these losses had instead cancelled out my profits from other stocks in June. Ultimately, still a +2-3% in June so far. Not too shabby as I was on vacation.

Am I a pro trader? The answer is no. But I take huge risks because I can afford to do so when young. That being said, I am grateful to some of the people I met online who gave good guidance and helped weather through hellish uncertainty, and look forward to more profits (and lessons) along the way in my investment journey.
