Last updated on October 18, 2024, at 15:56 JST (excerpt)
Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda indicated once again his intention to manage monetary policy appropriately based on the economic, price, and financial situation, while carefully assessing the impact of overseas economic and financial market trends on Japan's economic and price outlook. At the National Association of Shinkin Banks held in Tokyo, Deputy Governor Masakazu Ueda delivered the Governor's message.
Mr. Ueda pointed out, 'The outlook for overseas economies, including the USA, remains uncertain, and financial capital markets continue to be in an unstable situation.' He also stated, 'For the time being, we will closely monitor these developments with an extremely high level of tension,' and further noted that we will 'carefully assess the impact of Japan's economic and price outlook and the risks, as well as the likelihood of the forecast materializing.'
