Forward: Tesla CEO and xAI founder Elon Musk shared the resources he invested in developing Grok, an AI chatbot.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$ Whipper reports that on July 3, according to foreign news reports, Tesla CEO and XAI founder Elon Musk shared the resources he invested in developing the AI chatbot Grok.

Musk recently revealed that his upcoming Grok 3 version of his upcoming AI chatbot will train on 100,000 Nvidia H100 chips.

The H100 chip, also known as Hopper, is critical to processing large language model (LLM) data and is highly sought after in Silicon Valley.

Each Nvidia H100 GPU chip is estimated to cost around $30,000, and some estimates are even as high as $40,000.

That means Grok 3's training could take place on an AI chip worth between $3 billion and $4 billion, which is almost three to four times Mark Zuckerberg's Meta Platforms Inc. bet.

It's unclear whether the chips were purchased directly by Musk's company or leased from a cloud service provider.

In a previous interview, Musk mentioned that the Grok 2 would require around 20,000 H100s to train.

Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI has released Grok-1 and Grok-1.5, and Grok 2 will launch in August. Musk hinted that Grok 3 will be released by the end of this year.

The application of artificial intelligence in various industries is growing rapidly, leading to a high demand for artificial intelligence chips.

This has led to competition among tech companies to buy these chips, such as Musk's xAI and Meta, which have also piled up massive GPUs.

This has also intensified intense competition for top AI talent, Aravind Srinivas, founder and CEO of AI startup Perplexity, emphasized.

The development and resources invested in artificial intelligence technology are critical to the future of various industries, including automotive and space exploration, and Musk's company is a major player in these industries.
