Gaining from Market Volatility
I began September of Q3 with a fully invested portfolio, which was a bit nerve-wracking considering September's reputation for market volatility. Unfortunately, the month started with significant losses, totaling about $60,000 within the first week. This was partly attributed to my technology-heavy portfolio, which was susceptible to fluctuations based on economic news and anticipated interest rate cuts.
▪️ Strategy shifts: Hope to be more consistent with the following strategies:
- Stop Losses: Setting limits to protect investments
- Focus: Focusing on market leaders and companies that are doing well
- Tracking: Keeping close watch on stock performance and overall market trends
▪️ Unexpected gains: Despite the historical volatility of September, I approached the month with cautious optimism, anticipating potential losses but hoping that the election year might bring different market dynamics. So far, I've gained over $30,000 in September.
▪️ Future tactics: Given the recent interest rate cut, I'll be focusing on companies that are likely to benefit the most over the next 12 to 24 months.

StockNation : I lost about 60k when Nivida had that sell off after their earnings report in August. Still in shock! I regret not taking some profits after the May earnings report. I think when earnings from the Blackwell release are reported, I'll be glad I held on. Nerve-wracking as hell, though!
