GE Vernova widens losses due to damage to damaged vineyard wind turbine blades

GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) reported that a significant portion of a vineyard wind turbine blade damaged off the coast of Massachusetts was broken by the Nantucket Current this morning, to -3.4% in Thursday's trade, further widening its previous losses.
According to Vineyard Wind, which consists of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Avangrid (AGR) in Denmark, “there is a possibility that further debris will wash ashore from tonight to tomorrow, so additional workers have been deployed to Nantucket Island.”
Yesterday, US government authorities ordered Vineyard Wind Inc. to shut down operations in response to part of damaged turbine blades flowing into the Massachusetts coast.
Blade fragments began falling off last weekend, and Vineyard Wind has yet to say what caused the damage.
According to Reuters, this accident is the latest in a series of wind turbine failures manufactured by GE Vernova (GEV), and even in the giant project “Dogger Bank A” off the coast of England, at least 1 offshore wind turbine was damaged this year, and several onshore wind turbines have been damaged in recent years in Germany and Sweden.
