What makes me frustrated, is that common sense thinking does not exist anymore. Take the workers at UPS, or any other business for that matter. The pay increase included in the deal has the possiblity of creating an adverse spiral. Since wages are increased, now prices for UPS services will definitely get increased on their customers. One of 2 things will possibly happen, either the amount of shipping volume will continue and probably increase, then the workers will bitch and cry for compensation. Or customers will treat UPS like bud light and workers will be thinned out.

Inflation and wage growth

This deal will definitely impact one way or another, the wage growth of the US. If wage growth continues rise and stays elevated, it will prevents inflation from coming down as quickly as this administration is expecting.

Pay increases will put more money into UPS and other companies workers pockets allowing them to spend more to accommodate the higher prices that they created in the first place, because of the increase for products and services that companies will definitely pass on to customers.

This deal will add upward wage pressure in the service side of the economy, but It will trickle to other industries as well in time. This wage agreement will be large."

The Feds have already mentioned about the possibility of a wage/price spiral because of rapid pay increases for these people that do not understand anything about the economy and how it operates.

It is important to start getting wage inflation back to a level that is sustainable, that is consistent with the inflation that we are trying to get back to.
