GUANGZHOU, Dec. 8 -- The 2024 Pearl Bay International Climate Investment and Financing Conference, themed on global cooperation and green future, opened Sunday in the southern Chinese metropolis of Guangzhou.
Speaking at the conference, Liu Jian, vice president of Xinhua News Agency, highlighted that Xinhua, as China's state news agency and a global news organization, will fully leverage its all-media global communication matrix and the advantages of a national high-end think tank to work closely with all parties around the world to jointly promote the realization of the dual carbon goals.
Sun Zhiyang, mayor of Guangzhou, said during his speech that the conference is of great significance in advancing the implementation of China's dual carbon goals, building a beautiful China, as well as addressing global climate change. Guangzhou will join hands with countries around the world and all sectors of society to jointly promote greater development in climate investment and financing.
