Google Cloud does not plan to offer AMD AI chips, The Information reports, meaning 2 of the 3 major US cloud providers remain unconvinced AMD’s offerings are a good alternative to Nvidia’s GPUs. It will offer its own TPUs and Nvidia GPUs to customers.

it's aligned to what jensen said in GTC, even though other chips are free, it's still not cheap enough. basically, there's diminishing return when adding more chips in big data centers. So, if you want to build the best data center, only use the best chip.

It doesn’t really matter. We usually forget that there are customers other than big tech. And it is naive to assume everything runs on cloud. Telco, consultancies, banks and healthcare sectors usually have their own data centers and moderately priced chips like AMD are handy for them.
