Microsoft and Amazon are already focusing on nuclear power.
Google, under Alphabet, is discussing with electrical utilities both domestically and internationally regarding the potential use of nuclear power as the energy source for its own datacenters, supporting the increasing interest in utilizing nuclear energy to sustain the artificial intelligence (AI) boom.
Google's Global Head of Datacenter Energy, Amanda Peterson Corio, pointed out, "In markets where the U.S. and regulations make it difficult to directly purchase electricity, we are collaborating with electrical utilities and power generation companies to explore ways to introduce new technologies like nuclear power into the power grid," not ruling out the possibility of using nuclear energy in countries like Japan.
