The GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) market in the second quarter of 2024 is showing unexpected growth. According to the latest quarterly report from market research company Jon Peddie Research (JPR), GPU shipments increased by 1.8% compared to the previous quarter, reaching a total of 70 million units. This growth is attracting attention as an unusual move contrary to the industry's normal trend.

Datacenter GPU shipments increased by an average of 10% from the previous quarter.
According to the report by Jon Peddie Research, the growth of the world's PC-based Graphics Processor Unit (GPU) market reached 70 million units in the second quarter of 2024, with a remarkable 11% increase in PC CPU shipments compared to the previous year.
Overall, GPUs are expected to show an annual compound growth rate of 4.2% from 2024 to 2026, reaching an installation base of approximately 3.3 billion units by the end of the forecast period. Over the next 5 years, the adoption rate of discrete GPUs (dGPUs) in PCs will reach 23%.
