Hamas and Fatah discuss settlement in Beijing

Palestinian political groups Hamas and Fatah have completed three days of intra-Palestinian reconciliation talks held in Beijing, the capital of China.
Top teams from both groups attended, including Fatah's Deputy Representative Mahmoud Allour and Hamas political leader Ismael Hanye.
“We, the Fatah movement, are willing to resolve and dismantle all obstacles blocking the path of reconciliation under the difficult circumstances experienced by the Palestinian cause along with the genocidal war against Gaza,” said Fatah's senior leader Abdel Fatah.
Sharp differences of opinion on issues between Fatah and Hamas have resulted in the political division of the occupied West Bank and Gaza since 2007.
The aim of both parties is virtually the same, to establish a Palestinian nation on the 1967 border, but Fatah insists on peaceful negotiations rather than armed resistance, and attitudes towards Israel are still divided.
