That said, readers would be wise to keep in mind that in the firm's Q4 2023 13-F filing, Berkshire Hathaway $Berkshire Hathaway-A(BRK.A.US)$ $Berkshire Hathaway-B(BRK.B.US)$ omitted from this public Form 13-F one or more holding (s) for which it is requesting confidential treatment from the US Securities and Exchange Commission." That means that most likely we will learn what stock Berkshire has been accumulating and that stock will likely run. We do know, as Andrew Bary pointed out in his column at Barron's earlier this week that the cost basis for Berkshire's equity holdings in financial stocks had increased by roughly $5B over the past few quarters, hence it might be logical to assume, though you never really want to assume, that Warren's mystery name or mystery names are financials. This could make for a really interesting Wednesday evening. I am long BRK.B.
