$SamuderaShipping (S56.SG)$ have a question about the price, before the ex date of dividend, i bought in at 0.85, after the ex date, it seems like the price has been adjusted and i sold at 0.9 yesterday. My profit seems like just (0.9-0.85=0.05). However, i bought before the price adjustment, shouldn’t it be my entry price adjusted to a lower price i think around 0.765 after the adjustment? sorry, dumb question.

103058578 : 0.05 plus dividends 0.09
102474907 OP 103058578 : Thanks! I should’ve sold it at 0.9+ before ex date and buy back when it’s lower then.
happy lucky 103058578 : It means dividends payout is 0.14??
High Profit Low Loss happy lucky : 0.05 is capital gain, dividend is declared by the company.
happy lucky : So this price adjustment is a lost for all share holders .
Any chance adjust upward ?
High Profit Low Loss happy lucky : Yes, of course the price will move up and down according to the supply and demand in the market.
If you buy low and you want to make money then you must sell higher to cover your cost ( price+fees incur). Likewise you will lose money if your sell price is lower than your purchase price.
Hope my explanation is of help to you.
Jake the trader : Sorry what price adjustment you all talking about?
