Hezbollah describes the conflict with Israel as entering a "new stage" following the assassination of Hamas leaders.

Lebanon's pro-Iran armed group Hezbollah stated on the 18th that the war with Israel had entered a new stage of escalation after the killing of Hamas' senior leader, Mr. Sinwar, by the Israeli military. Iran stated that the "spirit of resistance will be strengthened."
Mr. Sinwar, who was considered the mastermind behind last year's Israeli ambush, was being pursued by Israel. He was killed in a gun battle with the Israeli military in southern Gaza on the 17th.
On the 18th, the Israeli military revealed that they had killed a commander in charge of Tyre in southern Lebanon, controlled by Hezbollah.
