High dividend stocks/ ETFs and my investment philosophy

My current investment philosophy is buying and holding good-dividend paying stocks (and most recently ETF was added to the portfolio) and has sound fundamentals (but I did make some judgement errors, as you will see in my list below).
This philosophy is temporary as it is born out of my awareness about my so very little stock market knowledge. As I evolve over time, I will 'upgrade' my philosophy. But as of now, I choose to err on the side of caution.
The following table is my list of stocks and ETFs and the dividends I will be getting by the end of Sept.
Although I officially started investing in June, I consider Sept as my actual start month because I was very ill-informed and ignorant before that.
High dividend stocks/ ETFs and my investment philosophy
You will notice some very high dividend ETFs here. Those are very risky because they are single stock synthetic covered calls, and every downtrend of the underlying assets will wipe out some NAV along the way, and it is susceptible to fund manager's error in mimicking the trends of the share price trend. I just hold a few of them and treat it like betting. If it goes bust, then it goes bust.

orchid, ECC, EIC, on watchlist for good entry time..
also, I let go of ecopetrol for now.
have you looked at the ones I mention?

  • CNNT OP : I add these in my to-research list, thanks forvthe leads! I did set my eye on YM Pypl and IWMY.

  • Space Dust : oh, I forgot, this one . I like to look at high yield choices that are at a low point on the charts 1m,3m,1y,5y.. and have indicators that show it may rebound 🪃.

    DEC.

  • Zoozoo333 : Hapseng is poor right now. Don’t think results will have a turn around until next year q1

  • KangkungBelacan : Great start. Moving forward, I would recommend you to reduce the number of stocks in your portfolio. This is a little too many.

  • 102614431 : ok, may i know why are you not keeping petdag? i m more ignorant than u😅

  • CNNT OP 102614431 : I'm not urgently wanting to let go, only when I find something worthwhile to replace it with.

Well, the reason I think it's not a keeper is because after comparing it with other holdings in my portfolio and also other companies in the retail sector, their net margin is surprisingly low. Something I didn't pick up when I purchased it, tempted by the good dividend %.

  • CNNT OP KangkungBelacan : Ya, I'm quite greedy and FOMO at times. I know, that's a fatal flaw, and I'm working on it.

But  I do plan to increase my capital from time to time,  so I plan to increase the number of shares in those holdings, whole getting rid of a few low quality ones along the way.

I'm a casual investor from Malaysia, learning, diversifying, and taking charge of my retirement funds.
